Templates can be used in several places in the system. The exact procedure is explained directly at the relevant point in the GUI.
Templates for profiles
When creating a new Profile, you can use a profile template to inherit certain basic settings of a profile. See also “Context men group” section in Profiles.
Templates for source and target structures
Building a source or target structure by hand is very time-consuming. A variety of options are available for automated creation:
A complete source or target structure is created from an external sample file, template, or schema file: in the source structure menu via Create structure from file analysis, in the target structure menu via Create structure > from file analysis.
From self-created partial templates for structures. See also Snippets.
From prefabricated internal templates for standard formats such as EDIFACT, SAP IDoc, X12, or ZUGFeRD — hundreds of templates are already available here. See also Load template.
The structure can also be automatically created from connected databases, SAP systems, or web services. See also: Importing structure via database nodes, DB (Cron input agent), Loading SAP templates, SOAP web services.
Templates for the format of values in source and target structure fields
For example, you can specify the format in which numbers are displayed, such as thousands separators or the number of decimal places.
See also Source structure attributes and Target structure attributes.
Templates for Integration Units (IU)
Individual Integration Units also support templates, for example the ODTCreatorUnit, the TemplateParserUnit, and the XMLTemplateParserUnit.
