Executive summary
Lobster validated Scaleway as a deployment target for the LDP. The validation used the Amsterdam region. It passed with no blocking issues.
The standard installation process applied unchanged. Scaleway's services fulfilled all infrastructure requirements. The setup of the database and the virtual machine (VM) was straightforward.
Operators should be aware of two provider characteristics. Scaleway offers fewer instance types than Azure or AWS. The available types are sufficient for regular needs. Scaleway also offers a limited set of hosting zones: France (Paris), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Poland (Warsaw), and Italy (Milan).

Infrastructure topology
The Validated Deployment Targets program generally uses a Linux distribution from the RHEL family (RHEL = Red Hat Enterprise Linux). Options include RHEL, Fedora, CentOS, or AlmaLinux. The database is PostgreSQL.
This validation used AlmaLinux 9. See the software version table below.

The application VM used the instance type BASIC2-A4C-16G (4 vCPU, 16 GiB memory, 5000 max IOPS). The VM used a public IP without a public DNS entry. Access was restricted to one specific IP address. The database ran as a managed PostgreSQL service with internal network exposure only. The network used a private network configuration in a separate VPC. Only the VM could access this network.

Installation summary
The installer was delivered to the VM via SCP (SCP = Secure Copy Protocol). The installation followed the standard customer installation via the installer GUI. There were no deviations from the standard installation process.
The Java runtime was downloaded from Adoptium with wget. The psql client was installed on the server to create and manage the database. The LDP connected to the managed PostgreSQL service through its internal endpoint. The application used HTTPS on the standard port 443. A standard LDP license was used.
