The “Mail/X.400” input agent retrieves emails from an account on an email server. The agent deletes all emails in the affected account immediately after retrieving them. For IMAP, it deletes the emails in the affected directory. This input agent supports the following email account types. See also section Input agents that are forced to receive all the data.

The retrieving profile or another profile then processes the collected emails according to specific distribution rules.
